Qualifications: B Com International Accounting (University of Johannesburg); B Proc (cum laude) LL.B (both from the University of Free State; Bloemfontein (UOFS); Master of Laws (LLM) with concentrations in International Business Law and International Trade Law (Washington College of Law (American University, Washington DC, USA)); Foundations of American Law program at Georgetown University (USA); Higher Diploma in Tax Law (University of Cape Town); Advanced Company Law I and II (University of Witwatersrand; Mandela Institute).

Before being called to the Bar in 2017, I practised as an an attorney for over a decade specialising in mergers and acquisitions, private equity, corporate restructurings and reorganisations, banking and finance, as well as general commercial and corporate arrangements (such as services and supply agreements) across several industries.

I was a partner/director at two of the country’s leading commercial law firms (Bowmans, and Norton Rose Fulbright) and acted for major corporates in some high-profile and complex M&A transactions during my days as an attorney.

My preferred areas of practice at the Bar include: general commercial litigation (including advisory and consultancy work); commercial crime/investigations; commercial and banking disputes; competition law; administrative and public law; business rescue proceedings, corporate restructurings and insolvency; banking and financial services; insurance; mining; telecommunications regulatory work; takeovers and mergers regulation; and corporate governance.

I act for leading state-owned development finance institutions and banks in recovery and other enforcement proceedings on large and complex financing transactions. I have also acted in high-profile appeals before the Takeover Special Committee formed under the Companies Act, 2008 of rulings made by the Takeover Regulations Panel in public M&A transactions.
