Gavin joined the bar in 2003. He was formerly a director in KPMG’s Tax Practice and headed up Investec Private Bank’s local fiduciary business.
Gavin specialises in both domestic and international tax matters, with expertise in areas including double taxation, withholding taxes, and transfer pricing.

Gavin has recently expanded his expertise by completing an LLM (Information & Communications Law) at the University of the Witwatersrand, with a focus on privacy and data protection law, particularly in the context of the increasing prevalence of AI and automated decision-making.
