Ivumile Nongogo

Ivumile joined the bar in January 2022. He holds an LLB degree from the University of South Africa. He has been involved in the legal field for a number of years since 2002. He was part of the Legal Experts Panel at the African Union responsible for drafting the Anti-Corruption Convention. During that same period, he was integrally involved in the discussions towards developing an anti-corruption legislative framework for the Zimbabwe Parliament.
In 2017 he became the Head of Legal at the South African Post office and held that office until 2019 when he was appointed Acting Group Chief Executive Officer.
Ivumile did his pupillage in 2021 with Group One Chambers and was one of the pupil cohort that passed the Bar exams at the first attempt.
The period at the Post Office has provided Ivumile with experience across Labour Law, International Law, Constitutional Law, BBBEE, Commercial Law, Legislative Drafting and Procurement Law. His intention is to continue in these areas of law.
Ivumile has been involved in litigation at the CCMA, the Arbitration Foundation of SA (AFSA), the Rental Housing Tribunal, the High Court, Labour Court and Essential Services Tribunal. He has also been an Independent Chairperson for Labour disputes since 2018 and chaired well over 40 labour disputes.
