Marc Cooke


Marc attended the University of the Witwatersrand and holds the degrees of BCom, LLB (cum laude) and LLM (Company & Contract Law) (cum laude). Marc was awarded the Adrian Paul Nathan Prize for the most distinguished LLM graduate. After completing his studies at Wits, Marc read for an LLM, specialising in Litigation & Dispute Resolution, at UCL in London – the degree was conferred on him with merit. Marc is a Fellow of the Association of Arbitrators, South Africa and a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, London. 

Prior to joining the Bar, Marc was a research associate at the University of the Witwatersrand and thereafter served articles at a Sandton Law firm.

Marc’s practice is in general commercial litigation and arbitration with a particular interest in company law, contractual disputes, insolvency, insurance, tax, construction and pension fund law.

Marc has published various articles in the South African Mercantile Law Journal and the South African Journal on Human Rights.
