Nelly Ndlovu

Nelly was called to the Bar in 2020. She is educated at Westville Girls’ High School (Durban, KZN) and the University of Cape Town (UCT). She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and a LLB degree from UCT.
Prior to joining the Bar, Nelly completed her articles of clerkship at Edward Nathan Sonnenbergs (ENSafrica) in Sandton, Johannesburg. She was retained as an associate (admitted attorney) in the employment law department.
During her time as an attorney, Nelly practiced in both individual and collective labour law, representing parties in the CCMA, Labour Courts, High Courts and Supreme Court of Appeal. Further, she has chaired disciplinary hearings and acted as employer representative therein, advised on restraints of trade, unfair dismissals, large and small scale retrenchments and review applications. She has acted for both local and multinational clients as well as individual and corporate clients in a number of industries, including the finance, mining, media, communications, IT and construction industries.
Nelly also gained experience in corporate commercial law (including specialist areas such as insurance law), competition law, technology media and telecommunications (TMT) law as well as general dispute resolution.
