Raquel Carvalheira

Raquel was called to the Johannesburg Bar in 2012 and joined Group One in 2017. Raquel graduated from Wits University with a BA LL.B degree in 2007 and subsequently her LL.M by dissertation in Labour Law in 2011. Raquel has taught various law subjects over the years at the University of the Witwatersrand including Mercantile law, Family Law, Succession and Roman Law.

Raquel has a particular interest in Commercial Law, Contract Law, Consumer Protection Law, Wills and Estates matters, Property Law, Insurance Law, Eviction matters, Insolvency Law and related fields.

Raquel has appeared in the High Court, the Labour Court, and Magistrates Court. She has acted on behalf of banks, mining houses, law firms, insurers and a range of individual and corporate clients.
