Talenta holds LLB, LLM (Wits), H.Dip. Tax Law (UJ), Dip. Labour Law (UJ), Post Grad Dip. In Finance and Financial Law (Univ. of London). Talenta further holds a certificate in Construction Law Adjudication (UP).

Prior to joining the Bar, Talenta qualified as an attorney in 2005 where he practiced in the commercial law field.  Talenta left practice in in 2007 to join SARS’ corporate tax division where he spent five years dealing with tax advisory and tax disputes resolution. Whilst at SARS Talenta sat in the SARS’ objections as well as in the penalties and interest committees. Talenta spent four years at Sasol as a senior legal advisor in the commercial and project finance space. Whilst at Sasol he advised on cross-border commercial and project finance transactions. Talenta was later seconded to Baker McKenzie law firm in London for six months. A year after his return he joined the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA) for three years in the project finance department where he worked in the financing of different infrastructure projects including IPPs, water and road projects.    

Talenta’s practice general commercial litigation with a particular interest in tax, contractual disputes, financial law and financial regulatory work, funding transaction, construction, insolvency, administrative and public procurement, medical negligence and labour.
