Ziyaad Minty

Ziyaad was called to the Bar in 2017 and is a member of the Johannesburg Society of Advocates and of the Mpumalanga Society of Advocates. He holds BA and LLB degrees from the University of the Witwatersrand and an LLM degree from Harvard University.
He was formerly Legal Counsel at the Competition Commission of South Africa between 2013-2016 and appeared in that capacity in hearings before the
Competition Tribunal. He completed his articles at a top-tiered law firm in Sandton, Johannesburg where he gained experience in commercial litigation,
construction law, employment law and competition law.

Ziyaad served as a law clerk to Justice Yvonne Mokgoro at the Constitutional Court of South Africa between January 2008 and July 2009. In 2009, he was inducted as a Harvard South Africa Fellow by Harvard University. He was also awarded the Chief Justice Ismail Mahomed Fellowship by the Constitutional Court Trust.

His preferred areas of practice are competition, commercial, labour and administrative law.
