Members of the Group gathered for a cozy and comforting surprise ‘Dip & Dunk’ to “chase away the winter chill” which was also used to honour and recognize Philip Ginsburg SC, highlighting his long-standing contributions and mentorship at Group One. In his tribute to Philip, the Group Leader, Mohammed Chohan SC noted that Philip’s door membership means that members can still look forward to his continued involvement through future training and similar occasions. Philip responded with praise of Mohammed, the group leadership and support staff for making the Group a premier group and he shared brief career reflections. An expert of national renown in intellectual property law, in his concluding remarks Philip quoted a humors extract of an addressed made by Lord Jonathan Sumption on the ‘dangers of specialization’ at the bar and that he had been persuaded that “chemical patents were a remote juridical island, best left to its savage inhabitants”!
