On 14 September 2023, Group One hosted the inaugural Group One Jules Browde Public Lecture, 2023 which was delivered by Supreme Court of Appeal Justice Malcolm Wallis (ret.) on Oudekraal, Kirland and the difficulties with self-review. The public lecture was well-attended including by members of the Browde family, members of the Constitutional Court, SCA and the DJP of our Division and Judges of the Gauteng Division, an esteemed administrative law professor, members of the Johannesburg Bar including from other groups and attorneys. By all accounts, it was an edifying lecture and successful event.
